As of 2013, the population of Argentina is 41.45 million and Chile's population is 17.7 million.
A valid passport is required to enter the country, no visa is necessary. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your expected departure from the country. Canadians visiting Chile must be in possession of a tourist card (provided by the airlines). Travellers should check with the Embassy of the Argentine Republic or Embassy of the Republic of Chile or its consulates for up-to-date information.
• In both Argentina and Chile Patagonia, summers are warm and pleasant with chilly evenings
• During winter, public transport becomes difficult to use as many services close
• Northern Argentina can be extremely hot in summer and is best visited during spring
• Winter from June through August, and fall in this region are also pleasant times
